Radioactive Man (4B) is a strong finisher for a mono‑black or Golgari midrange/control deck that focuses on removal, hand disruption, and evasion to clear the way for a single devastating combat hit—deathtouch makes him an excellent deterrent/blocker, while the “lose half their life, rounded up” trigger scales brutally in Commander, especially with evasion (Whispersilk Cloak), menace-granting effects, or reanimation shells that cheat him out early. That said, there are generally better and more reliable options: **Archfiend of Despair** doubles opponents’ life loss and prevents life gain (often ending games immediately), **Virtus the Veiled** halves life for just 3 mana (though without deathtouch and easier to remove), and **Wound Reflection** can replicate or exceed the effect without needing combat damage from a creature.
