About Renounce
Renounce, Instant, designed by Carl Critchlow first released in Oct, 1999 in the set Mercadian Masques. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of A$ 0.70.
Renounce would be a great addition to a white weenie or token-based deck in Magic: the Gathering, as it allows you to gain life while sacrificing your own permanents for value. However, there are better options like Martyr's Cause which not only allows you to sacrifice creatures to prevent damage but also serves as a deterrent for opponents to attack. Renounce could see play in specific strategies focused on life gain or sacrificing permanents, but it may not be a staple in most competitive decks due to its limited utility compared to other cards available.
