About Dragonlord's Prerogative

Dragonlord's Prerogative, Instant, designed by Seb McKinnon first released in Mar, 2015 in the set Dragons of Tarkir. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of A$ 0.75.

A deck focused on dragons in Magic: The Gathering would benefit from including Dragonlord's Prerogative, as it provides card advantage and protection from counterspells when a dragon card is revealed or controlled. However, for better card draw options, cards like Ancestral Recall or Brainstorm may be more efficient choices, depending on the deck's strategy and format. Dragonlord's Prerogative could see play in casual dragon-themed decks or limited formats where dragon synergy is prevalent.

If one of these spells is copied, the controller of the copy will get the “Dragon bonus” only if a Dragon card was revealed as an additional cost. The copy wasn’t cast, so whether you controlled a Dragon won’t matter.

If you don’t reveal a Dragon card from your hand, you must control a Dragon as you are finished casting the spell to get the bonus. For example, if you lose control of your only Dragon while casting the spell (because, for example, you sacrificed it to activate a mana ability), you won’t get the bonus.
