About Stonewood Invocation

Stonewood Invocation, Instant, designed by Pete Venters first released in Oct, 2006 in the set Time Spiral. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of A$ 1.37.

This card would be beneficial in a green-based aggressive deck looking to protect its key creatures from removal spells or targeted abilities, while also providing a significant power boost to finish off opponents quickly. While Stonewood Invocation is a solid choice, some may argue that cards like Vines of Vastwood or Blossoming Defense offer similar protection with added flexibility, making them potentially better options depending on the specific deck strategy. Ultimately, Stonewood Invocation could see play in certain metagames or sideboard situations where shroud is particularly valuable.

Rules

03/19/21

If the resolution of a triggered ability involves casting a spell, that spell can’t be cast if a spell with split second is on the stack.

03/19/21

Players still get priority while a card with split second is on the stack; their options are just limited to mana abilities and certain special actions.

03/19/21

Split second doesn’t stop triggered abilities from triggering, such as that of Chalice of the Void. If one does, its controller puts it on the stack and chooses targets for it, if any. Those abilities will resolve as normal.

06/07/13

Casting a spell with split second won’t affect spells and abilities that are already on the stack.
