However, at a base rate it’s generally underpowered compared to stronger counter engines such as Managorger Hydra (which grows on every spell cast without requiring higher mana spent), Lorescale Coatl, or even inexpensive threats like Tarmogoyf or Werewolf Pack Leader in competitive formats; for token synergy, cards like Master Biomancer or Fathom Mage often generate more consistent value.
