About Elixir of Immortality

Elixir of Immortality, Artifact, designed by Zoltan Boros & Gabor Szikszai first released in May, 2020 in the set Magic 2011 and was printed exactly in 9 different ways. It see play in 1 formats: Commander. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 0.70.

A control deck focused on longevity and outlasting opponents would benefit from using Elixir of Immortality, as it provides a way to gain life and recycle key cards from the graveyard. However, there are better options available such as Gaea's Blessing which not only shuffles the graveyard into the library but also provides card advantage by drawing a card when put into the graveyard, making it a more versatile choice. Elixir of Immortality could see play in certain niche strategies but may not be a top choice for competitive decks.

If Elixir of Immortality is in your graveyard at the time the ability resolves, you’ll still wind up shuffling it into your library because you shuffle your entire graveyard into your library. If it’s anywhere else by that time, including in another player’s graveyard, it remains where it is and you shuffle just your graveyard into your library.

Paying the activation cost of Elixir of Immortality’s ability doesn’t cause it to leave the battlefield. If you have a way to untap it, you can activate the ability multiple times in response to itself.
