About Horta
Horta, Creature — elemental, designed by Arthur Haas first released in Aug, 2026 in the set Star Trek.
Horta would mainly benefit a red-based Limited or casual Commander deck that wants a high-end trampling threat but also values mana consistency, since basic landcycling lets you discard it early to find a needed basic land; an Elemental-tribal deck could also consider it, though its six-mana cost makes it a weak tribal payoff unless its power and toughness are exceptionally high or it has additional abilities. In competitive Constructed play, it should generally not see play based on the text provided: a creature that only has trample and no enters-the-battlefield, haste, protection, or card-advantage ability is unlikely to justify six mana. Better options include `Glorybringer` for a cheaper aggressive red threat with flying, haste, and removal, `Goldspan Dragon` for ramp and evasive pressure, or `Etali, Primal Conqueror` as a more powerful red top-end creature; in Commander, `Etali` or a dedicated Elemental such as `Omnath, Locus of the Roil` will usually provide substantially more v
