About Profound Journey

Profound Journey, Sorcery, designed by Tomasz Jedruszek first released in May, 2020 in the set Dragons of Tarkir. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 0.35.

A deck that focuses on graveyard recursion and value generation would benefit from including Profound Journey, as it provides a powerful way to bring back a permanent card from the graveyard to the battlefield. While the Rebound ability offers additional value by allowing you to cast it again for free on your next turn, there may be better options depending on the specific strategy of the deck, such as Sun Titan or Emeria, the Sky Ruin, which offer similar effects at a lower cost or with additional benefits. Overall, Profound Journey could see play in certain decks looking for a versatile and recurring way to bring back key permanents.

At the beginning of your upkeep, all delayed triggered abilities created by rebound effects trigger. You may handle them in any order. If you want to cast a card this way, you do so as part of the resolution of its delayed triggered ability. Timing restrictions based on the card’s type (if it’s a sorcery) are ignored. Other restrictions, such as “Cast [this spell] only during combat,” must be followed.

Casting the card again due to the delayed triggered ability is optional. If you choose not to cast the card, or if you can’t (perhaps because there are no legal targets available), the card will stay exiled. You won’t get another chance to cast it on a future turn.

If you cast a spell with rebound from any zone other than your hand (including your opponent’s hand), rebound will have no effect.
