About Reweave

Reweave, Instant — arcane, designed by Alex Horley-Orlandelli first released in Oct, 2004 in the set Champions of Kamigawa. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 0.99.

This card, Reweave, would be beneficial in a control deck that aims to disrupt the opponent's board by sacrificing key permanents and potentially replacing them with a card of a similar type. However, it may not be as efficient as other removal spells like Path to Exile or Fatal Push which offer more immediate and versatile removal options. While Reweave has potential in specific strategies, its high cost and conditional effect may limit its overall playability in competitive Magic: the Gathering decks.

Rules

06/07/13

A card with a splice ability can’t be spliced onto itself because the spell is on the stack (and not in your hand) when you reveal the cards you want to splice onto it.

06/07/13

If all of the spell’s targets are illegal when the spell tries to resolve, it won’t resolve and none of its effects will happen.

04/01/08

With the introduction of the Tribal type it became possible for an instant or sorcery card to share a type with the sacrificed permanent (ie, a Tribal instant card shares a type with a Tribal Enchantment card). Reweave has received errata so that the effect looks for a *permanent* card that shares a type with the sacrificed permanent. A permanent card is a card that could be put onto the battlefield, which is any card that isn’t an instant or sorcery.

04/01/05

When Reweave resolves it uses the type(s) that the permanent had right before it was sacrificed.
