Mortify is a versatile removal spell that can fit well in a control or midrange deck in Magic: the Gathering. Decks that focus on disrupting the opponent's board state and maintaining control of the game would benefit from including Mortify, as it can efficiently deal with both creatures and enchantments. While there are other similar cards like Vindicate or Anguished Unmaking that offer additional flexibility or benefits, Mortify's efficiency and mana cost make it a strong contender for inclusion in decks that require targeted removal. It should definitely see play in decks that can make use of its abilities effectively.

This spell isn’t Modal. When it resolves, it will destroy the target if it’s a creature or an enchantment, even if it changed from one to the other between targeting and resolution.
