About War Cadence

War Cadence, Enchantment, designed by John Matson first released in Oct, 1999 in the set Mercadian Masques and was printed exactly in 2 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of 0.71.

A deck that focuses on aggressive strategies and wants to push through damage quickly would benefit from including War Cadence, as it can disrupt the opponent's blocking plans and allow for more successful attacks. However, there are potentially better options like Bedlam or Goblin War Drums that offer similar effects with potentially more impact, so War Cadence may not see widespread play in competitive decks but could still be a fun and surprising inclusion in more casual or themed decks.

Rules

10/04/04

You can choose X=0. This doesn’t have an effect most of the time, but it does mean that creatures can’t block unless the controller chooses to pay the cost (a cost of zero is not automatically paid). You can use this to make your creatures unable to block an attacker.
