Afterthought Sentry

About Afterthought Sentry

Afterthought Sentry, Artifact creature — gargoyle, designed by Andrew Mar first released in September 2026 in the set Reality Fracture. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of C$ 0.01.

Afterthought Sentry would primarily benefit low-curve artifact aggro, sacrifice, or artifact-synergy decks that want an early creature capable of attacking while providing incidental graveyard disruption; however, paying {2} for flying each turn makes its evasion inefficient, and exiling only one card when it attacks is too narrow and unreliable as graveyard hate. In most Constructed formats, better options include **Unlicensed Hearse** for repeatable graveyard exile and a growing threat, **Lion Sash** for repeatable exile plus lifelink, or **Soul-Guide Lantern** for cheap, immediate graveyard interaction; **Gingerbrute** is also generally a better cheap artifact attacker if evasion is the priority. Afterthought Sentry could be playable in Limited or a very casual artifact deck, especially if its creature type, artifact status, or low mana value matters, but it is unlikely to deserve Constructed play.
