About Angel of Salvation

Angel of Salvation, Creature — angel, designed by D. Alexander Gregory first released in May, 2007 in the set Future Sight and was printed exactly in 4 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of C$ 0.01.

A deck focused on white mana and creature-based strategies, such as a white weenie or angel tribal deck, would benefit from including Angel of Salvation due to its flash ability, convoke cost reduction, and protective effect upon entering the battlefield. However, in competitive Magic: the Gathering formats, there are likely better options available, such as Baneslayer Angel or Lyra Dawnbringer, which offer more impactful abilities and value for their mana cost, making Angel of Salvation less likely to see play in those contexts.

Rules

03/19/21

If a creature you control has a mana ability with in the cost, activating that ability while casting a spell with convoke will result in the creature being tapped before you pay the spell’s costs. You won’t be able to tap it again for convoke. Similarly, if you sacrifice a creature to activate a mana ability while casting a spell with convoke, that creature won’t be on the battlefield when you pay the spell’s costs, so you won’t be able to tap it for convoke.

03/19/21

If multiple sources would deal damage to an affected target at once, that target or that target’s controller chooses which source’s damage to prevent for each “shield.”

03/19/21

You can tap any untapped creature you control to convoke a spell, even one you haven’t controlled continuously since the beginning of your most recent turn.

03/19/21

You divide the prevention effects as Angel of Salvation’s triggered ability is put onto the stack, not as it resolves. Each target must be assigned at least 1 prevention “shield.” You can’t choose more than five targets and assign none to a target.

10/05/18

Because convoke isn’t an alternative cost, it can be used in conjunction with alternative costs.

10/05/18

Convoke doesn’t change a spell’s mana cost or converted mana cost.

10/05/18

When using convoke to cast a spell with in its mana cost, first choose the value for X. That choice, plus any cost increases or decreases, will determine the spell’s total cost. Then you can tap creatures you control to help pay that cost. For example, if you cast Worldsoul Colossus (a spell with convoke and mana cost ) and choose X to be 3, the total cost is . If you tap two green creatures and two white creatures, you’ll have to pay .

05/01/07

You choose how the damage prevention shields will be divided when you put the triggered ability on the stack.
