About Aquatic Subtlety
Aquatic Subtlety, Sorcery, designed by Margaret Organ-Kean first released in Feb, 2026 in the set Alchemy: Lorwyn Eclipsed.
Aquatic Subtlety would fit best in a mono-blue or heavily blue Alchemy deck that leverages creature ETB effects, especially ones that benefit from being cheaply Evoked (for example, blue creatures with strong enters-the-battlefield abilities like card draw, bounce, or tempo effects), since granting perpetual Evoke lets you convert creatures in hand into flexible, low-cost value plays; it could also support combo shells that want creatures in the graveyard or that benefit from casting multiple cheap creatures in a turn. However, the UUU cost is very restrictive, and the front half (draw two, discard two) is merely looting, which is less efficient than cards like Thirst for Discovery, Chart a Course, or even Consider plus better payoff spells, making this relatively slow unless the Evoke synergy is central to your strategy. In most competitive formats, it’s likely too narrow and color-intensive to see broad play, but it could be viable in a dedicated mono-blue tempo or ETB-combo Alchemy
