About Arc Reactor
Arc Reactor, Artifact, designed by Steve Ellis first released in Jun, 2026 in the set Marvel Super Heroes and was printed exactly in 2 different ways. It see play in 1 formats: Commander.
Arc Reactor fits best in artifact-heavy decks that can reliably fuel **improvise**, such as Commander builds led by Breya, Etherium Shaper; Urza, Lord High Artificer; or other artifact-token strategies that produce lots of cheap artifacts (Treasure, Thopters, Clues, etc.), since those bodies help cast it cheaply and offset its five-mana cost; however, entering tapped and only producing {C}{C}{C} makes it fairly slow compared to stronger options like Thran Dynamo (four mana, untapped, taps for {C}{C}{C}), Gilded Lotus (fixes colored mana), Basalt Monolith (three mana, taps for {C}{C}{C}), or even the various three-mana “mana rocks” like Coalition Relic and Chromatic Lantern, all of which generate value faster or more efficiently, so while Arc Reactor could be playable in a very synergy-driven artifact deck that can improvise it out early, it is generally outclassed by existing ramp options and is unlikely to see competitive play outside of thematic or casual builds.
