Arcane Omens would fit best in a five‑color (or at least three‑plus‑color) control or midrange deck that can reliably produce multiple colors of mana, since Converge rewards you for maximizing color diversity; in practice, though, five mana for a discard spell that requires heavy color commitment is inefficient compared to options like **Mind Twist** (which can strip a hand for less total mana), **Thoughtseize** and **Inquisition of Kozilek** (far more efficient early disruption), **Mind Shatter** (scales without color restrictions), or even **Identity Crisis** in formats where it’s legal. Because discard is strongest early and this requires five mana plus multiple colors to be worthwhile, it’s generally too slow and inconsistent for competitive constructed play, though it could be a flavorful inclusion in casual five‑color Commander decks that care about Converge or color diversity; overall, it likely would not see serious competitive play due to stronger, more efficient alternatives.
