**Borough Backup** (4W) is best suited for slower white midrange or control decks—especially Limited decks—where making two 3/2 vigilance bodies provides solid board presence and stabilization, and the **basic landcycling {2}** helps smooth draws early; however, at five mana it’s underpowered for most competitive Constructed formats because more efficient token-makers exist, such as **Cloudgoat Ranger** (which produces more power across multiple bodies), **Hero of Bladehold** (a much stronger ongoing threat), or planeswalkers like **Elspeth, Sun’s Champion**, which generate greater long-term value, while even cheaper options like **Wedding Announcement** or **Adeline, Resplendent Cathar** provide more impact for the cost; as a result, Borough Backup is playable and sometimes desirable in Limited or very budget/token-themed casual decks, but it is unlikely to see meaningful play in higher-powered Constructed formats.
