About Cantankerous Keepers

Cantankerous Keepers would fit best in a casual or Commander Elf-tribal deck that wants extra card advantage and can reliably reduce its cost with a wide board of Elves; it is especially reasonable in self-mill or graveyard-focused Elf builds, since it effectively draws any Elf cards among the top four while putting other cards into the graveyard. However, it is probably too slow for competitive Elf decks: cards such as **Leaf-Crowned Visionary** and **Beast Whisperer** provide more consistent ongoing card draw, **Elvish Archdruid** both accelerates mana and buffs the team, and **Realmwalker** lets you cast Elves from the top of your library repeatedly. Even **Elvish Visionary** is often preferable at low mana because it replaces itself immediately and helps the deck curve out. Keepers is playable as a flavorful midrange/card-advantage option in casual Commander, particularly if you can regularly cast it for two or three mana, but it should generally not be a staple or see play in opti
