About Cease-Fire
Cease-Fire, Instant, designed by Darrell Riche first released in Oct, 2001 in the set Odyssey. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of C$ 0.50.
Cease-Fire would be beneficial in a control deck that aims to disrupt the opponent's strategy by preventing them from casting creature spells for a turn, allowing the player to gain an advantage. However, there are better options such as Supreme Verdict which not only deals with creatures already on the battlefield but also prevents them from being played for the rest of the game. Cease-Fire could still see play in specific matchups where creature-heavy strategies are prevalent, but overall, there are more powerful options available.

This spell will not counter any creature spells on the stack. It only prevents new creature spells from being cast after it resolves.
