About Crumbling Ashes

Crumbling Ashes, Enchantment, designed by Chuck Lukacs first released in Jul, 2008 in the set Eventide. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of C$ 13.04.

This card would be beneficial in a deck that focuses on placing -1/-1 counters on creatures to control the board. Decks that utilize cards like Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons or Nest of Scarabs would benefit from Crumbling Ashes. However, there are better options like Blowfly Infestation or Black Sun's Zenith that offer more versatility and impact. While Crumbling Ashes may have niche uses, it may not see widespread play due to its limited scope and higher cost compared to other options.

Rules

08/01/08

If the targeted creature loses all its -1/-1 counters by the time the ability resolves, the ability won’t resolve because its only target is illegal. The creature won’t be destroyed.

08/01/08

This ability is mandatory. If you’re the only player who controls a creature with a -1/-1 counter on it as your upkeep begins, you must target one of your own creatures.
