About Death's Caress

Death's Caress, Sorcery, designed by James Ryman first released in Feb, 2012 in the set Dark Ascension. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of C$ 0.49.

A deck focused on removal and gaining life would benefit from including Death's Caress, especially if it is facing a lot of Human creatures. However, there are more versatile removal spells like Murder or Hero's Downfall that can target any creature type without the life gain restriction, making them potentially better options depending on the deck's strategy and the metagame. Death's Caress could see play in a sideboard against Human-heavy decks, but may not be a maindeck staple in most competitive decks.

If Death’s Caress resolves but the target creature isn’t destroyed, perhaps because it has indestructible or it regenerated, you still check if it’s a Human. If so, you’ll gain life equal to its toughness.
