Divergent Equation would fit best in a blue-based spell-heavy control or combo deck—especially one that fills its graveyard quickly with cantrips, interaction, and rituals—such as Izzet Storm, Jeskai Control, or a spellslinger Commander deck (e.g., Mizzix, Veyran, or Kess), where returning multiple key instants and sorceries can refuel a combo turn or grind out long games; however, its **XXU** cost makes it very mana-intensive and slow compared to existing options like **Past in Flames** (which often wins the game immediately in Storm shells), **Mizzix’s Mastery** (which can cast spells directly for explosive turns), **Underworld Breach** (arguably stronger and combo-enabling), or even cheaper recursion like **Mission Briefing** and **Snapcaster Mage**, all of which provide more immediate impact or better mana efficiency; as printed, Divergent Equation is likely too clunky for competitive Constructed formats but could see casual or Commander play in big-mana or spellslinger decks that
