About Doppelgang
Doppelgang, Sorcery, designed by Chris Rallis first released in January 2024 in the set Murders at Karlov Manor and was printed exactly in 4 different ways. It see play in 1 format: Standard. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of C$ 1.82. It's a key card in 1 combo.
This card, Doppelgang, would greatly benefit a deck focused on token generation or copying permanents for value. It could be particularly strong in a deck that aims to overwhelm the opponent with a large number of powerful tokens. However, a better alternative to Doppelgang could be the card Rite of Replication, which creates even more copies of a permanent for a fixed cost. While Doppelgang could see play in certain token-focused decks, it may not be as efficient or versatile as other options available.
Rules
02/02/2024
Any enters-the-battlefield abilities of the copied permanent will trigger when the tokens enter the battlefield. Any "as [this permanent] enters the battlefield" or "[this permanent] enters the battlefield with" abilities of the permanent will also work.
02/02/2024
If the copied permanent has {X} in its mana cost, X is 0.
02/02/2024
If the copied permanent is copying something else, then the tokens enter the battlefield as whatever that permanent copied.
02/02/2024
The tokens copy exactly what was printed on the original permanent and nothing else (unless that permanent is itself copying something else; see below). They don't copy whether that permanent is tapped or untapped, whether it has any counters on it or Auras attached to it, or any non-copy effects that have changed its power, toughness, types, color, and so on.
