“Extrapolate the Impossible” would mainly benefit a black toolbox, control, or combo deck with a carefully constructed sideboard, especially one that can present two nearly interchangeable answers—such as creature removal, graveyard hate, or combo pieces—so the opponent’s choice matters less; however, its opponent-controlled selection makes it unreliable when you need a specific card. In most formats it is worse than established tutors such as `Demonic Tutor`, `Diabolic Intent`, `Beseech the Mirror`, or even `Wishclaw Talisman`, because those cards let you choose the target yourself, while outside-the-game tutors such as `Mastermind’s Acquisition` are more expensive but still provide control over the choice. It could see experimental play in a slower casual or sideboard-based strategy, but at two mana it is unlikely to be competitive unless its ability to access sideboard cards is unusually valuable in the format.
