About Haunting Wind

Haunting Wind would fit well in a control or stax deck that focuses on taxing opponents' resources and punishing them for using artifacts, particularly in formats where artifact-heavy strategies are prevalent, such as Commander or Modern. While it can be effective, there are arguably better options like Torment of Hailfire or Pernicious Deed, which can provide more versatile board control or direct damage, respectively. Ultimately, whether Haunting Wind should see play depends on the metagame; if artifacts are a significant threat, it could be a valuable addition, but in a more diverse environment, it may not be as impactful.
