House Guildmage could be beneficial in a control deck that focuses on disrupting opponents' creatures and manipulating its own library. However, there are more efficient cards for each of its abilities, such as Frost Titan for tapping down creatures and Thought Scour for graveyard manipulation. While House Guildmage may not be a top-tier card, it could still see play in a budget or casual deck for its versatility.
