Intrepid Ace, Creature — human pilot, designed by Mushk Rizvi first released in Jun, 2026 in the set Marvel Super Heroes Commander.
**Intrepid Ace** is best suited for aggressive red decks—especially those that value early pressure but can also benefit from creatures that remain back to crew Vehicles (like in a Boros or mono‑red Vehicles shell), since it stays large while not attacking or blocking. However, the card is generally underpowered by modern Magic standards because it only maintains its +2/+0 bonus when it *isn’t* attacking or blocking, which works against what aggressive decks want to do. In most cases, stronger and more efficient alternatives like **Monastery Swiftspear**, **Kumano Faces Kakkazan**, **Bloodthirsty Adversary**, or even classic aggressive one‑drops such as **Goblin Guide** (in non‑Standard formats) provide much better pressure and synergy. Because of this awkward restriction and the high power level of competing red creatures, Intrepid Ace would rarely see competitive play and would mostly be limited to casual or niche Vehicle‑focused builds rather than optimized decks.
