Landfill could be beneficial in a deck that aims to disrupt the opponent's land base, potentially slowing them down or locking them out of certain colors. However, its high cost and the potential risk of accidentally damaging cards make it less practical compared to other land destruction spells like Pillage or Molten Rain which have lower costs and provide more controlled removal, making Landfill less likely to see play in competitive Magic: the Gathering formats.
