About Lofty Dreams

Lofty Dreams, Enchantment — aura, designed by Steven Belledin first released in Jan, 2026 in the set Lorwyn Eclipsed.

Lofty Dreams would fit best in a creature-heavy blue deck that can reliably take advantage of convoke—such as a blue-based token, tempo, or go-wide strategy (e.g., Azorius or Simic tokens) where tapping small creatures helps cast it ahead of curve while mitigating its steep 5-mana cost; however, five mana for a +2/+2 flying Aura—even with a cantrip—is generally below rate and risky due to aura vulnerability to removal (you lose tempo if the creature is removed), making it weaker than alternatives like **Curious Obsession** (cheap card advantage in tempo), **Combat Research**, **All That Glitters** (in enchantment-heavy decks), or simply non-Aura finishers like **Teferi, Who Slows the Sunset** or efficient flying threats; even in Limited this would be only decent, and in Constructed it’s likely too slow and low-impact unless in a dedicated convoke/token shell that specifically wants enchantment synergy, so overall it would rarely see competitive play.
