Morinfen Avatar would fit well in a deck focused on generating a large number of low-cost permanents, such as token or swarm strategies, where the player can quickly overwhelm opponents while accepting the life loss as a trade-off for board presence. However, there are generally better options for such strategies, like Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts, which can provide both board presence and life gain, or Soul Warden, which can help mitigate the life loss. While Morinfen Avatar has a unique effect, its high life cost can be detrimental, making it less likely to see competitive play compared to more efficient alternatives.
