About Opal Champion

Opal Champion, Enchantment, designed by Edward P. Beard, Jr. first released in May 2020 in the set Urza's Legacy. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of C$ 0.48.

Opal Champion would be best suited for a white-based control or enchantment deck that aims to disrupt the opponent's creature-based strategies while also providing a potential threat. However, there are better options available, such as Banishing Light or Sphere of Safety, which offer more versatile and impactful effects in a variety of situations. A noncreature permanent that turns into a creature can attack, and its abilities can be activated, only if its controller has continuously controlled that permanent since the beginning of their most recent turn. It doesn’t matter how long the permanent has been a creature.

It changes into a creature even if the spell is countered.

It triggers when the spell is cast, so it becomes a creature before the spell resolves. A creature that would destroy an enchantment when it enters the battlefield can’t be used to destroy this card, since it will no longer be an enchantment when the creature enters the battlefield.
