Patient Instructor would fit best in Azorius or Esper decks that want both card filtering and bodies on the battlefield—especially token, sacrifice, reanimator, or graveyard-synergy shells, since recruit lets you dig for key cards while turning discarded nonlands into a 1/1 Soldier. Its vigilance is useful for a defensive tempo or go-wide deck, but at three mana it is likely more of a Limited role-player than a Constructed staple unless its power and toughness are unusually strong. For pure token production, **Resolute Reinforcements** is generally more efficient; for filtering a graveyard, **Raffine’s Informant** is cheaper; and for straightforward card advantage, **Inspiring Overseer** is usually better. Patient Instructor should see play in Limited and possibly casual Commander decks built around Humans, tokens, or discard synergies, but it probably would not be competitive in high-powered Constructed formats without exceptional stats or additional synergy.
