**Pox Plague** (essentially a five-mana, all-black “super Pox”) would fit best in a mono‑black control, attrition, or resource-denial shell that is built to break symmetry—decks using recursive threats (Gravecrawler, Bloodghast), death triggers, sacrifice synergies, planeswalkers, and low permanent counts (like classic Pox or Smallpox strategies). It especially favors builds that empty their hand quickly, use lands like Urborg and utility lands, and rely on graveyard value so the “half” effect hurts opponents more. However, at BBBBB it is extremely color-intensive and slower than existing options; **Pox (3 mana)** and **Smallpox (2 mana)** are generally better because they come down earlier and are easier to cast, while **Death Cloud** scales and can outright lock opponents out in ramp shells.
