About Puca's Eye
Puca's Eye, Artifact, designed by Dan Frazier first released in Jan, 2026 in the set Lorwyn Eclipsed.
Puca’s Eye would fit best in a five‑color (“5‑color goodstuff” or domain) Commander deck that reliably controls permanents of all five colors, since its activated draw ability only turns on once you meet that condition; the ETB cantrip makes it low risk, and choosing a color can help turn on color‑matters cards (like devotion, Sunburst, or domain synergies), but overall it’s slow and inefficient. In most decks, especially outside five‑color builds, there are better draw options: **Arcane Encyclopedia** (repeatable draw without color restriction), **Tome of Legends**, **Mind’s Eye**, **Idol of Oblivion**, or simply staples like **Phyrexian Arena**, **Mystic Remora**, or **Rhystic Study** provide more reliable or more powerful card advantage. Because it requires five colors among permanents and costs 3 mana plus tapping per card, Puca’s Eye is generally underpowered and would only see play in a very casual, budget, or heavily color‑themed five‑color deck—not in optimized lists.
