Cateran Slaver, Creature — horror mercenary, designed by Carl Critchlow first released in Oct, 1999 in the set Mercadian Masques. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of C$ 1.37.
This Cateran Slaver card would benefit a deck focused on Mercenary creatures and utilizing their abilities. It could be useful in a black-themed deck with a focus on tutoring and putting Mercenary permanents onto the battlefield quickly. However, there may be better cards for this purpose, such as Recruiter of the Guard, which has a lower mana cost and can search for any creature with toughness 2 or less. Whether Cateran Slaver should see play would depend on the specific strategy and synergy of the deck it is included in.
