About Shifting Loyalties

Shifting Loyalties, Sorcery, designed by James Ryman first released in May, 2020 in the set Fate Reforged. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of C$ 0.48.

A deck that focuses on synergies between specific permanent types, such as tribal decks or decks that heavily rely on specific land or artifact interactions, would benefit from using Shifting Loyalties. However, in most cases, the high mana cost and situational nature of the card may make it less efficient compared to other options like In Bolas's Clutches, which provides more immediate and impactful permanent control. Shifting Loyalties could see play in more casual or theme-based decks, but competitive decks may opt for more versatile and efficient alternatives.

Gaining control of an Aura or Equipment doesn’t cause it to move, though gaining control of an Equipment will allow you to activate its equip ability later to attach it to a creature you control.

If one of the target permanents is an illegal target when Shifting Loyalties resolves, the exchange won’t happen. If both permanents are illegal targets (perhaps because they no longer share a card type), Shifting Loyalties won’t resolve.
