**In Residence** would fit best in a Gruul (R/G) “legend toolbox” or combo deck that wants to tutor specific legendary creatures for a one-turn burst of impact—especially legends with powerful enter-the-battlefield effects, attack triggers, or combo potential (e.g., Etali, Primal Conqueror; Godo, Bandit Warlord; or combat-focused legends that win immediately with haste). Because it scales with X, it’s flexible in the late game, but the delayed deployment (waiting until your next first main phase) and the temporary nature of the creature make it slower and riskier than alternatives.
