Confront the Past would be beneficial in a control or midrange deck that focuses on planeswalkers, as it provides versatility in either bringing back a planeswalker from the graveyard or weakening an opponent's planeswalker. However, a better alternative could be Angrath's Rampage, which offers more flexibility in targeting any permanent type and can disrupt an opponent's board state more effectively. While Confront the Past has its uses, its situational nature may limit its playability in competitive decks compared to more versatile options.
