**Bastion of Remembrance** (2B) is best in **Aristocrats**-style decks—strategies that sacrifice creatures for value—because it creates a 1/1 Human token and drains each opponent for 1 life whenever a creature you control dies, making it excellent in token, sacrifice, and recursive creature shells (like Orzhov, Rakdos, or Mardu Aristocrats in Commander or sacrifice-focused Standard/Pioneer builds). It synergizes especially well with free sacrifice outlets (Viscera Seer, Carrion Feeder), death-payoff creatures (Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat), and token generators, steadily draining the table in multiplayer. In Commander, **Blood Artist**, **Zulaport Cutthroat**, and **Cruel Celebrant** are often stronger because they cost less and trigger on opponents’ creatures too (Blood Artist) or are cheaper to deploy, though Bastion is harder to remove since it’s an enchantment.
