Fervent Denial, Instant, designed by Scott M. Fischer first released in Oct, 2001 in the set Odyssey and was printed exactly in 2 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of C$ 0.48.
Fervent Denial would be a valuable addition to a control deck in Magic: the Gathering, providing a powerful tool to counter opponent's spells and potentially disrupt their game plan. However, given its high mana cost and the need to pay additional mana for its flashback ability, it may not be the most efficient option compared to other counter spells like Counterspell or Cryptic Command, which offer similar effects at a lower cost. Overall, Fervent Denial could see play in certain control decks that can afford its mana requirements, but there may be better options available depending on the specific strategy and format.

To determine the total cost of a spell, start with the mana cost or alternative cost (such as a flashback cost) you’re paying, add any cost increases, then apply any cost reductions. The converted mana cost of the spell is determined only by its mana cost, no matter what the total cost to cast the spell was.

You can cast a spell using flashback even if it was somehow put into your graveyard without having been cast.

“Flashback [cost]” means “You may cast this card from your graveyard by paying [cost] rather than paying its mana cost” and “If the flashback cost was paid, exile this card instead of putting it anywhere else any time it would leave the stack.”
