Rowdy Crew would be beneficial in a red aggressive deck that focuses on card advantage and graveyard synergies, as it provides a potential card advantage and can grow in power quickly with the +1/+1 counters. However, for a more consistent and competitive option, a card like Chandra, Torch of Defiance may be preferred as it provides card advantage, removal, and a powerful planeswalker ability. Rowdy Crew could see play in more casual or themed decks that aim to have fun with random card discards and creature growth mechanics.

Once Rowdy Crew’s triggered ability begins to resolve, no player may take other actions until it’s done. Notably, you can’t discard or cast any of the cards you draw to try to rig the results of the random discard.
