Shadow Urchin would fit best in a Rakdos (black‑red) aristocrats or sacrifice‑value deck that actively wants its creatures to die and can turn counters into upside, especially builds using undying/persist creatures, modular creatures, or creatures that already enter with counters so the blight 1 drawback becomes fuel; it also pairs well with sacrifice outlets like Woe Strider or Goblin Bombardment to control when countered creatures die and convert the exile‑to‑play trigger into burst card advantage. However, at three mana with no immediate value and a requirement to both attack and have countered creatures die, it’s relatively slow and build‑around compared to stronger options like Fable of the Mirror‑Breaker (more consistent value), Mayhem Devil (direct payoff for sacrificing), Grim Haruspex or Midnight Reaper (more reliable card draw), or Laelia, the Blade Reforged for aggressive exile‑impulse value; even Judith, the Scourge Diva often pressures the board more efficiently.
