This card would be a great fit in an artifact-heavy aggressive deck, where you can easily activate its Metalcraft ability to give it double strike. However, there are better options like [[Puresteel Paladin]] or [[Etched Champion]] that provide more consistent value in artifact-based decks. While Spiraling Duelist has potential, it may not be the most optimal choice for competitive play unless the deck is specifically built around maximizing its Metalcraft ability.

If Spiraling Duelist has double strike as the combat damage step begins, there will be a second combat damage step. As that second combat damage step begins, if Spiraling Duelist no longer has double strike (perhaps because an artifact creature you controlled was destroyed), Spiraling Duelist will not assign combat damage a second time.
