About Squelching Leeches
Squelching Leeches, Creature — leech, designed by Tomasz Jedruszek first released in Jun, 2002 in the set Magic Online Promos and was printed exactly in 4 different ways. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of C$ 0.50.
A mono-black control deck that focuses on ramping up Swamps would benefit from using Squelching Leeches, as it can become a powerful creature for a relatively low cost. However, there are better options available, such as Gray Merchant of Asphodel, which has a more impactful ability when it enters the battlefield and can drain life from the opponent. Squelching Leeches may not see much play in competitive Magic: the Gathering decks due to its limited versatility and reliance on Swamps for its power and toughness.

Squelching Leeches’s power and toughness will change as the number of Swamps you control changes. Its ability counts all lands you control with the subtype Swamp, not just those named Swamp.
