About Strike It Rich

Strike It Rich, Sorcery, designed by None first released in May 2021 in the set Modern Horizons 2 and was printed exactly in 5 different ways. It see play in 2 formats: Modern and Commander. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of C$ 5.68.

Strike It Rich is best in low-curve red spellslinger, Storm, prowess, and Treasure/artifact-sacrifice decks that value casting a spell twice, increasing storm or prowess counts, or having a card in the graveyard that can generate additional resources; however, it is not true immediate ramp, since the Treasure cannot be sacrificed until after the spell resolves. In most decks it is weaker than dedicated mana cards such as **Rite of Flame** (where legal), **Desperate Ritual**, **Pyretic Ritual**, **Manamorphose**, or **Jeska’s Will** in Commander, while **Dockside Extortionist** is vastly better for Treasure production when available. Strike It Rich can be worthwhile in specialized Modern or Commander graveyard/spells-matter lists, especially if the deck benefits from its flashback, but it generally should not see play as a normal ramp card because making one delayed mana for one mana is inefficient.

Rules

06/18/2021

"Flashback [cost]" means "You may cast this card from your graveyard by paying [cost] rather than paying its mana cost" and "If the flashback cost was paid, exile this card instead of putting it anywhere else any time it would leave the stack."

06/18/2021

A spell cast using flashback will always be exiled afterward, whether it resolves, is countered, or leaves the stack in some other way.

06/18/2021

To determine the total cost of a spell, start with the mana cost or alternative cost (such as a flashback cost) you're paying, add any cost increases, then apply any cost reductions. The mana value of the spell is determined only by its mana cost, no matter what the total cost to cast the spell was.

06/18/2021

You can cast a spell using flashback even if it was somehow put into your graveyard without having been cast.

06/18/2021

You must still follow any timing restrictions and permissions, including those based on the card's type. For instance, you can cast a sorcery using flashback only when you could normally cast a sorcery.
