Thranduil’s Decree would be best in a mana-ramp-heavy blue control or theft deck, especially Commander, where reaching six mana is realistic and opponents cast powerful creatures, artifacts, planeswalkers, enchantments, or commanders worth stealing; it is both interaction and a potential win condition, but it is inefficient for competitive or faster formats because six mana is a lot to hold up for a single counterspell. **Spelljack** is generally the closest and often better comparison: for the same total mana cost it exiles and lets you cast *any* countered spell, including instants and sorceries, though its triple-blue requirement is harsher; **Desertion** is much better if your targets are primarily creatures or artifacts, costing only five mana and putting them directly onto the battlefield, while **Sublime Epiphany** is usually the stronger six-mana blue spell because of its enormous flexibility.
