About Traumatic Prank
Traumatic Prank, Sorcery, designed by Brian Valeza first released in May, 2022 in the set Alchemy: New Capenna.
Traumatic Prank would fit well in an aggressive red deck that focuses on dealing damage quickly, as it allows you to temporarily steal an opponent's creature, attack with it, and then inflict damage on yourself to potentially trigger other effects or abilities. However, there are arguably better cards for this purpose, such as Act of Treason, which also allows you to gain control of a creature but doesn't impose a damage penalty on you. While Traumatic Prank has unique effects that could surprise opponents and create interesting plays, its self-damage drawback may deter its inclusion in most competitive decks, making it a niche choice rather than a staple.
