Treasure Trove fits best in sacrifice, self-bounce, or “leave the board” synergy decks that can reliably trigger its exit effect on demand, especially Chaos-rune–focused builds that benefit from consistent rune generation and incremental card draw. Because it replaces itself when it dies and channels a Chaos rune, it works well in combo-oriented decks that need cheap permanents to fuel sacrifice engines or trigger death/leave-board payoffs, but it is likely too slow for aggressive decks and too low-impact for pure control unless they specifically need rune acceleration. If there are stronger 2-cost options that generate a rune immediately without requiring setup (such as a direct Chaos channel spell) or that draw more than one card on death, those would generally be better in raw efficiency; similarly, if there’s a unit that draws and generates a rune while also impacting the board, it would outclass Treasure Trove.
