About Unfathomable Truths
Unfathomable Truths, Instant, designed by Drew Tucker first released in May 2024 in the set Modern Horizons 3. It see play in 1 format: Pauper. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of C$ 0.01.
Unfathomable Truths would benefit a control or midrange deck looking to draw cards and generate additional resources. While the Devoid mechanic can be a downside in certain situations, the card advantage and token generation provided by Unfathomable Truths can be valuable in longer games. However, there are better options available such as Fact or Fiction or Treasure Cruise, which offer more efficient card draw without the colorless restriction, making Unfathomable Truths a niche card that may not see widespread play in competitive Magic: the Gathering decks.
Rules
06/07/2024
A card with devoid is just colorless. It's not colorless and the colors of mana in its mana cost.
06/07/2024
Devoid doesn't affect the color identity of the card for the purposes of the Commander variant. For example, while Abstruse Appropriation is colorless because it has devoid, its color identity is still white and black, and it can't be included in a Commander deck where the commander's color identity doesn't include both white and black.
06/07/2024
Devoid works in all zones, not just on the battlefield.
06/07/2024
If a card loses devoid, it will still be colorless. This is because effects that change an object's color (like the one created by devoid) are considered before the object loses devoid.
06/07/2024
Other cards and abilities can give a card with devoid a color. If that happens, it's just the new color, not that color and colorless.
