About Vicious Offering

Vicious Offering, Instant, designed by Anthony Palumbo first released in April 2018 in the set Dominaria. It's currently being selled by the minimum price of C$ 0.50.

A deck that focuses on sacrificing creatures for value, such as a Black sacrifice or Aristocrats deck, would benefit from including Vicious Offering. The flexibility of being able to use it as a removal spell with a potential -5/-5 effect makes it a strong choice in decks that can consistently generate creatures to sacrifice. However, there are potentially better removal options like Fatal Push or Murder that may offer more consistent and powerful removal, depending on the specific needs of the deck. Vicious Offering could still see play in certain strategies that can take advantage of its unique kicker ability and sacrifice synergies.

Rules

11/08/2024

If a card or token enters as a copy of a permanent, the new permanent isn't kicked, even if the original was.

11/08/2024

If a spell's kicker cost was paid, the spell is "kicked."

11/08/2024

If you copy a kicked spell on the stack, the copy is also kicked. If the copied spell is a permanent spell, the token the copy of that spell becomes when it enters is also kicked.

11/08/2024

If you put a permanent with a kicker ability onto the battlefield without casting it, you can't kick it.

11/08/2024

The kicker ability doesn't let you pay a kicker cost more than once.

11/08/2024

To determine a spell's total cost, start with the mana cost (or an alternative cost if another card's effect allows you to pay one instead), add any cost increases (such as kicker), then apply any cost reductions. The spell's mana value remains unchanged, no matter what the total cost to cast it was.
